DetectaChem ships a redesigned MobileDetect app for

A rebuilt interface speeds up colorimetric and Raman trace-detection workflows for the 100,000+ officers already running MobileDetect in the field, with instant case-file report generation.

DetectaChem has released a major update to its MobileDetect application — the field-facing software platform used by more than 100,000 law enforcement officers, border security personnel and military teams worldwide to capture, log and share colorimetric and Raman trace-detection results.

The rebuilt interface reduces the number of taps required to complete a detection workflow from initial swab to submitted report, addressing feedback from field users who found the previous version’s multi-step logging process cumbersome during high-tempo operations. The redesigned home screen surfaces the most recently used test protocols and active incident tags immediately on launch.

Most significantly, the update introduces automated case-file report generation. Upon completing a detection sequence — whether using a colorimetric reagent pouch or the APEX Raman module — the app assembles a structured report containing the sample type, detected substance, confidence level, timestamp, GPS location and officer ID. The report is immediately exportable as a PDF or shareable via the agency’s case management system through an API integration.

DetectaChem confirmed that the update is available immediately for both iOS and Android as an over-the-air update to all existing MobileDetect users at no additional cost.
