PDI onboards Sintela as their primary fibre perimeter vendor & partner

Distributed acoustic sensing across buried, on-the-fence, or existing fibre cable turns any site into thousands of intelligent sensors — replacing legacy fence-line systems.

PDI has formally added Sintela to its security portfolio as the company’s primary partner for distributed fibre-optic sensing across the MENA region. The decision follows a rigorous evaluation of perimeter sensing technologies suited to the region’s critical infrastructure requirements — from oil and gas pipelines to government compounds and international border corridors.

Sintela’s ONYX™ platform is the centrepiece of the partnership. A single fibre-optic cable deployed along a fence line, buried underground, or threaded through existing conduit becomes a continuous acoustic and vibration sensor capable of monitoring up to 200 km from a single processing node. The system classifies events — distinguishing a footstep from a vehicle crossing, or a digging attempt from wind noise — and delivers GPS-accurate alerts directly to a command centre.

PDI will distribute the full ONYX product family — ONYX PETA, ONYX PETA-EX and ONYX Nano — providing clients across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the wider region with a sensing option calibrated to their site’s threat profile and physical footprint. Each variant is engineered for different deployment conditions, from high-sensitivity border monitoring to compact urban perimeter applications.

The partnership underscores PDI’s commitment to deploying sensing infrastructure that goes beyond conventional fence-detection. Sintela’s technology is inherently resilient — no cameras to maintain, no moving parts, no line-of-sight requirements — making it one of the most operationally sustainable perimeter solutions available to the market today.
